BSG Set Damaged in Windstorm

November 13, 2007

bsgwinddamage1.jpg Vancouver’s first major winter storm of the season came through town yesterday, and the high winds took out an outdoor set for Battlestar Galactica. What the news called “ancient ruins” were in fact in ruins as the picture here shows. A spokesperson for GEP Productions, Geoff White, spoke to the news crew after surveying the damage, saying he hoped they would be able to do repairs and still shoot at the location in the coming week.

The set is on Centennial Beach in Tsawwassen, south of Vancouver. For more info, the news story is streaming live here at the Global TV BC website, under the link for Vancouver Wind. The timecode for the BSG set is roughly 1:43 to 2:11 in to the story.

  1. I saw this on the news yesterday. Wow, talk about destruction!

  2. […] outdoor Battlestar set took a pounding in a windstorm […]

  3. I immediately thought of this post as soon as I saw the end of the finale…

You know, I now have to wonder how much this set was actually damaged by the storm, and how much was the show taking advantage of some kismet to hide a giant spoiler from getting out. 🙂

  4. This set is also covered on the blog bloginhood.blogspot.com including more photos. See arcticle in January.
