The BC Film Commission official Production List has been updated with information about the new 2 hour BSG movie. And for the first time, we have a working title: Battlestar Galactica 2009 Movie: The Plan. They are scheduled to shoot from September 2 to 29th, 2008.

A few weeks ago, word surfaced that Battlestar Galactica fans would get the opportunity to bid on a wide variety of props and costumes from the show, in live and online auctions early next year.
What I haven’t seen much of online yet is chatter about the website that will be keeping us up to speed on the auction: http://www.battlestarprops.com
It’s well worth raving about.
Alec Peters of Propworx and Joe Beaudoin Jr of Battlestar Wiki have been given full access to tons of cool stuff and they’re sharing it with everyone through the website. You will find highly detailed descriptions of items, with explanations of how exactly they were used on the show. The guys are obviously enjoying the work they’re doing and their excitement clearly comes through in the writing. Some of my favourite stuff so far is the concept art for the sets, but all of it is worth the look. They are updating the site frequently with new material and even video content.
As it happens, we’ve got a 13th Colony connection. Steve Fronczek of future-past.com has been acting as a consultant for the project and the work he has already done on cataloguing props on his website has been cited as a source.
Great job guys!
And fans…you better start saving your pennies. You’ll need quite a few if you want your own Mark II Viper for the back yard.
Canadian BSG fans will get to put in some serious TV time this Fall. Space Channel will be re-broadcasting Seasons One through Four of Battlestar Galactica, every Monday through Thursday at 2pm and 6pm PT, starting September 8th.

It’s here! I was one of the lucky ones to get my hands on the special edition Cylon Toaster produced for Comic Con 2008. It really does burn an image of a new-style Centurion onto your toast.
Of course, I have to show it off.
The 13th Colony will be hosting a Toaster Toast Party on Labour Day, September 1st. It’s a potluck brunch (gotta see how a well-placed dollop of strawberry jam fits into the image!) and definitely BYOB (bring your own bread!)

The 13th Colony joined forces with several of the other science fiction clubs in Greater Vancouver to put on the Our Kinda People Picnic this past weekend. Besides the Battlestar Galactica fans, we had fans there representing the Vancouver Firefly/Serenity Meetup Group, the Greater Vancouver Stargate Meetup Group, The Vancouver Doctor Who Meetup Group, BIFF (Burrard Inlet Fan Fellowship) and VCON. The weather could have been better, but 21 people made it out to Central Park to join in on the fun. It was a chance to talk about each other’s favourite shows and find out about what the other clubs in Vancouver are up to.
Alliances can be a very good thing.
